Want to learn How Great Science Fiction Works! Get it for FREE in April 2016!

Awesome course!
So many wonderful lectures at The Great Courses, including How Great Science Fiction Works. Try it out yourself with our The Great Courses coupon!

Doesn't matter what kind of science fiction you're into, if you like the genre, you know there are some really wonderful options, and a few less than wonderful ones as well. We all know it, and can tell when we get bamboozled by a bad one.

So you know what you like and what you don't like, and you can tell almost immediately when you get to watching. I'm just the same way — easy to know if it's sci fi that's "for me" or maybe not so much for me. But why? That's the real question. I know when I'm not digging it, but how do I know?

This course helps you figure it out.  Professor Gary K. Wolfe has the download, and can make sure you know what to look for when looking for great science fiction. I mean, I think Blade Runner is great science fiction, no matter what format we're talking about. But now I'm going to learn why. I can't wait.

I'm not saying I always need wonderful science fiction that is sublime at every turn. But I wouldn't mind if it that were the case. Who would, really?

There's still time in April to learn How Great Science Fiction Works! Get it for FREE!

Awesome course!
I have enjoyed many of The Great Courses, but I especially like How Great Science Fiction Works and you can get it yourself with our The Great Courses coupon!

Who doesn't like good sci fi. I mean honestly most of us put up with crappy sci fi because we love the spaceships or futuristic science or what have you.

Wouldn't it be great to find out how to pick the winners? Or, even better if you're creative, how to learn to make your own awesome sci fi?

This course can totally help.  Professor Gary K. Wolfe was the bomb in Phantoms, yo, and can teach you anything you need to know about how to make great Science Fiction.

Once you know, since knowing is half the battle, you can even enjoy some less than great sci fi and not worry about the future of the genre or anything like that. Just have fun in a "it's so bad it's good" way. Like Trolls 2.

April Fool's got nothing on How Great Science Fiction Works! Get it for FREE with our The Great Courses coupon!

Awesome course!
It's April 1st, but I'm not fooling one bit with the awesome How Great Science Fiction Works that you can get with our The Great Courses coupon!

I'm reading a book right now I'm not loving, but it's totally sci fi. I wish the author had taken this course before writing it, and before I started reading.

I don't know why, but I find it impossible to put down a book once I start it, even if I'm hating it. I can stop reading if I'm super offended, but that rarely happens. If I just don't like it? I still keep reading. It's tragic.

So that's why I think anyone can benefit from this course. Professor Gary K. Wolfe will teach you about all kinds of great sci fi history and tropes and other fun things.

And once you know, you can judge sooner if you'll enjoy a book or not. Or a movie too. At the very least you will know if it's good pretty early on, and can decide if that's right for you.

If you want to watch bad sci fi once you know how great sci fi works, well that's your bag and I'm not going to stop you at all!
